Is it standard that when you add AU on AmEx website it says "Pending verification you will receive card ....."?

I don't recall seeing the words "pending verification" when adding them recently but tonight it said that.

Did I just not notice those words in the past or did something change?
Had that as well & got them

Can someone please explain how adding yourself as an AU works?
Do you call it in and not use a social or do it online?
What's the advantage to adding yourself?
If you do use a social, does it show up on you credit report as an AU accounts (which I don't like)?

Thanks!

Just to be sure, everybody who applied for more than 3 AU are doing it over the phone, correct? I'm shocked that the CSR does not get more suspicious when you ask for that many AU cards.

You can do it online too. Up to 5 at a time for most cards.

I thought I read something from Dan about maximum 3 AU when done online, but to 99 when we call in.

If I add my wife as an AU for the United Explorer Card -or any other card for that matter- (and as such I receive 5,000 bonus miles), could she at a later date apply for her own United Explorer Card and receive the 30,000 bonus miles to er account? If yes, would she have to cancel her AU account before she applied for her own?

After she applies for her own, could I add myself as an AU of her card although I already have my own, (and she would receive 5,000 bonus miles)?

Is there any rule of moderation? I.e. If 5 family members enroll each other as AU of each others cards, which would mean they would all have 5 of the same card (4 as AU and one as primary)?

If you add someone as an au they could still get their own card.

Are there any data points on the need to activate AU cards? I know Dan said that it is not necessary, but I am wondering if anybody else has experience about this.
As far as my experience just went, serve subaccount cards could not be registered for SBS until they were activated.
Worked fine once activated.

Remember, when activating serve sub account cards you must sign in with the email address assigned to the sub account not the main account. You can't activate subs count when signed in to main account.
