Why can't you just skip it into the glove compartment when you reach over to get the registration?

Can't the cop detect the detector from the signal it emits? I thought only the next version up (8500) was hidden to cops

He has no idea whose car it came from

I thought they often are able to tell? U don't think they can tell the difference between moving and stopped signals?

According to this review, the Whistler c90 looks better as an overall unit despite being less expensive (MSRP).  Could it be that the Passport 8500 x50 just has better marketing so it gets better consumer reviews?

I'm interested in one that will work overseas, specifically in Israel.  Whistler vs 8500 x50?

dk if i'd trust that site, as they can't even get the performance graphs right (doesn't match the data table)

Had it like 8 years ago and it was my lifeline. Back then laser wasn't so prevalent.

I got it again recently and use it but don't rely on it as much. Some troopers use laser these days and no radar detector is really good for that. It's definitely a great first line of defense.

I've got one. I like it, but u never trust it blindly.
Instant on, cops not shooting, and laser make any radar detector not fool proof.

+1 of course not to rely on it fully, instead I intend to combine it with waze and keeping an eye up ahead for brake lights.

Anybody every use this? It's sound way too cheap to be effective, but you never know...
