unlawful spedodometer is what they usually reduce  your ticket to with a plea bargain, but the cop had mercy on me and gave me that ticket originally. I based my decision on many people's opinion that the 8500 isn't a good piece.

I'm with you that the the 8500 isn't the best (its definetly the best for that price) did u consider the valentine?? (im just curious to know what others think about the valentine, as I think its the best) also was the cop shooting laser, instant on, pacing you, around a bend.......??

I have a Valentine & love it. It shows you the direction of the radar & how many different hits you are getting.

actualy on the redline (& even th 8500) you can see how many hits your getting if its on expert mode, although its harder to use on expert bec the displays are tiny. but yea with the arrows on the valentine it really makes it more acurate to use.

Is there a best bang for the buck device yet? Is it still the 9500ix?

the 8500 is great for the price, but its a step lower than the v1 and the 9500

When I notice a good topic, no matter how old I''ll post. I enjoy sharing my personal experiences (in this case owning various radar detectors for many years) and usually what will happen is that the topic will come alive again. And, guess what happened  ;D ;D ;D

I don't know how much the V1 costs these days... but i have it for over 8 years and saved me many many times.... also if they come out with new versions you could send it in for about $100 and they'll update it.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals
