You guys ever heard of waze?
the problem with waze is that it's too hard to look down and add info while driving and especially if you're afraid the cop will see you looking at your phone and pull you over for that so until they come out with a way to talk instead of using your hands it will be quite useless as my experience showed it's extremely unreliable
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

though it pops up an alert on the screen when a cop is ahead

Same one as me. Glad it worked for ya

It's on sale for 144.99 on Groupon. I think I am going to return the other one back to amazon.http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-1-escort-passport-8500-radar-detectors-1?sid=VUBjTWNnb0JDamNBQUFxOTVBb0FBQUFp&utm_source=GPN&utm_medium=afl&utm_campaign=200003&tsToken=US_AFF_0_200003_200248_0

ETA: The 8500X 50 is sold out. Do you know the difference between the 8500 vs the 8500x50?

The 8500x50 is the newer model and has much better range. Worth an extra $55 IMHO

bought the redline it was pretty good but i got pulled over once on the NY 17 with it. The cop let me off with an unlawful speedodometer ticket.
Do you mean broken speedodometer?

If he has no radar and no laser hot does he catch you?

"Speed Recognition Expert" the standard of training for the NYS Police. They need to watch you for at least 1/4 of a mile. It appears that the NYC police are not so fortunate along with their hand written tickets.

Closely related, if you ever get pulled over for any other reason and a cop sees the detector or jammer, it may tick him or her off.

If you do get pulled over, just quickly hide it.

If they see you moving around they get really nervous so it's not that easy

Then the cop sees you playing around and hiding something in the car, so he gets suspicious about you and what "contraband" you might have in the car... he may decide to have you sit there for a while until a K9 could get there to smell your car...

Disagree. If you are swift it can be done. Also, if there is a passenger in the car, they could just do it for you.

Maybe keep a non see-thru grocery bag wedged in between the seat and the center divider to quickly take out and insert the detector?

Maybe. I am not concerned that I will be able to conceal in a very swift manner
