Some are outright trash.
Some have questionable lessons.
Some are plain old boring and not a book I want to keep reading to my kids.
And some are worthwhile.
Either way, defintiely needs to be screened.
Any book needs to be screened before given/read to children.
Last Shabbos my granddaughter came to me with a Yiddish children's book asking me to read it to her (and my daughter also listened attentively). Which while many would consider this book to match their השקפה, I would actually keep it away. To summarize my problem with it, I found it an antithesis to the השקפה brought about in the maamar ביום עשתי עשר יום.
I don't think there's harm in the book, but definitely not something I would read again or recommend to anyone.
