You get 2 of the same book

Actually, I don't think that's true. If you sign up 2 children that are the same age you'll get 2 of the same book. But I know that my sister-in-law signed up her now 4 year old a long time ago and now more recently also signed up her 8 month old. The books that she's now getting for the 8 month old are not the same books she got for her 4 year old when the 4 year old was that young.

The only exception is the first book, which is always The Little Engine That Could.

I was basing it off the first book.  I got 2 engines that could. In the second month I only got 1 book.

We actually got The Little Engine That Could last month on Shabbos. We saw it with the rest of the mail in the afternoon, but by mincha time already it was gone. But like I mentioned, my sis-in-law signed both of her children up so she was happy to give us her 2nd copy. This month we got Good Night Gorilla.

Anyway, it's supposed to be age-appropriate, so as long as you signed them up as their actual ages you should get different books.

I'm 3 books in and never got the Little Engine book. Kid was 18 months when they started coming.

Maybe someone took it, which is what happened to me. Either way, it's always the first book.

Which community would Flatbush be part of for PJ Library? It doesnt seem to fit any of them.

Actually this list is for summer reading programs for kids, it does not provide free books... unless I am missing something.

The reading programs offer a free book to kids who read a certain amount.  While its not the same as getting a free book a month without doing anything, it does fit with the title of this thread.

I've been uncomfortable with PJ Library's books for a while. The values most books promote goes directly against what I (and I imagine most frum parents) want my child to learn. The vast majority of books ended up in the garbage, but every now and then a decent book would show up.

Their Chanuka book just arrived, celebrating... intermarriage.

Subscription canceled.

Yeah, we cancelled long ago. Obviously not for the frumme velt (even though they have had some "parve" ones in the past).
