Avios vacation from NYC
« on: June 15, 2012, 12:47:32 PM »
Don't want to take the Toronto thread too far afield so I'll start a new one.

Seems like not enough to do in Toronto to warrant flying out for a few days do looking for other suggestions for a short vacation from NYC using avios.
Been recently to philli, Boston and DC so that takes basically all the driving distance ones. Maybe Baltimore
One suggestion was Montreal-good idea?
Cleveland? KC? Atlanta-probably too hot.
Any other good ideas? Anything i'm missing.

CLE, ORD, PIT, and YUL are all good BA options from NYC.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Already gonna be in ord twice this summer. Looking for something else. What to do in the others to warrant a 2/3 day trip (I am not a foodie so don't travel just for food)

If you guys Enjoy a baseball game ...PIT has PNC Park ... one of the most beautiful parks in Baseball and really cheap to go to a game as the team is no good.
Pleas hold. Your call will be answered in the order it was received.

What are you looking to do? Museums, hiking, water activities, sight seeing, etc.? i.e. if you give a list of what you like to do in cities it'll be easier to figure out. I would definitely find plenty to do in Toronto for 2-3 days so if you can't maybe your looking for different activities...

Love hiking and also like museums/sight seeing. Didn't look at all into Toronto, just from reading through this thread that was the perception I got. What would you do in Toronto?

Well besides obviously Niagara falls. Here is a list of 229 activities in Toronto I am sure you can find 3 days worth of fun :P. I haven't spent that much time in Toronto although I love the city its just so clean and has nicer people than America. As for the others Cleveland has a plethora of amazing hikes that you can "discover" water falls, go creek walking, all in totally secluded areas. I am sure I can find some great hikes if you decide to go. They also have one of my favorite art museums (which is free btw) if your into that. there is the rock and roll hall of fame as well as the polka hall of fame lol. They just got a new casino. here's a list of 96 thing to do http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g50207-Activities-Cleveland_Ohio.html . Pittsburgh meh I wouldn't bother they have some great kids museums but I think you would get bored. Cleveland and Toronto both have beaches where you can do water stuff btw. If you have more questions I'll try and answer this was just a ramble hope some of it made sense.

Not sure why you would fly to Baltimore, it is not a far drive from NYC (3 hours from brooklyn w/o traffic)

Also, AA doesn't fly direct to DEN so prob not worth using Avios.
