i have 4 amex cards, both spg, delta gold, and everyday.
i applied for delta gold business, and was declined because i have the maximum amex credit cards i can have.
since u can get up to 5 i chatted with amex about it and they told me the 5th is an au.
i called and they sent it under manual review
is it posible to get it approved without closing anything, or no chance?

I applied for a credit card on the 22nd, and was denied due to max credit cards. I have an ED card that I can cancel, but I'd rather wait until the statement closes on the 29th, so I don't forfeit this month's MR points. If I wait that long (about 8 days), will it still be the same app. or will I need a whole new app? Thanks.

IIRC you can recon for that app for 30 days.
The point of recon is to get that application approved, not to start a new one.

As reported upthread, it is possible to speak with "the executive team". My apps are pending and need "3-5 days". I'd love to speak with them again, but the reps claim they can not transfer me to them. Does anyone know how to get a hold of the executive team? PMs welcome. Thanks.

I forgot about it till the last day, and was about to lose all my MR points, (cuz it was my only MR card open) So I applied for the blue card, and was denied. Today they called me, said they made a mistake and I'm approved. Anyone ever heard of such a thing?
