Can Amex charge cards be used as leverage?
Anyone have any such experience?
Basically/IOW, I want to know if I should just cancel, or first do an apporama..
TIA

AMEX called me today about my app for a 5th SPG card.

They said the new policy is max of 4 credit cards.  I currently have 6 credit cards+3 charge cards so I'd have to close 3 credit cards to get another approved.
Is that all personal cards? or a total of personal and business?

Is there any point calling amex reconsideration when the decision is pending?

Update!
I called the reconsideration line and was approved for the mb platinum and the delta personal but the delta business i was told that they it was flagged as a duplicate so she noted that it's a different product and sent it over to the business department and told me that a decision will be made within 3-5 business days
Any point in HUCA?

Update 2
I just received a email from amex that the business card was approved too.
(without huca)
Just to note I have 6 different amex card's now.
This 3bm was payback for not receiving the 75k bonus on the amex gold business  ;)

I applied for 3 Amex cards 2 weeks ago. 2 personal one business. First personal instant approval. Called about the others and was told to wait. A week later the second personal was approved. Now 2 weeks later I get an email stating the business card is a duplicate application and is cancelled. Is there any point in calling. I'm afraid it'll be another pull at this point.

You can call and see what happened with it. IME Amex only does another pull when you specifically ask to reconsider.

I applied for two personal card ( MBenz and Delta) and one business (PRG) this morning, all are pending. Should I call in or just wait a day or two? Its been about 4 months since my last 3 AMEX cards (plat, personal prg, and cash blue).

Thank you

The reps at Amex Recon claim they don't have the power to overturn a denial and the department that handles that is not a customer-facing team, i.e. I can't speak with them. Was the dude BSing me?

My apps say "in progress", is this the same status as "pending"?
