2 Friends of mine just had this happen to them . Was wondering if anyone has any insight.

They applied for a Chase card and were approved instantly. They got their card a week later . When they called to activate it they were told , "sorry your account has wrong information and has been closed , if you want you could reapply". They are sure they gave all the correct info, and besides if the info on the app was wrong they never would of been approved instantly. They called all the numbers listed in the stickied post and didn't get any concrete answers or any help how to reverse this.

Did anyone ever have this happen to them?

it just happened to me with the united club card... i tried calling and they said they suspected fraud and canceled it if i want it i must reapply.
it also happened to rots5.
maybe you can give us more info so we can figure out if we all have something in common.
it happened to rots5 and i with a 2-3bm, and we both applied from israel. what's the story in your case? which card was it?

both of us did not receive the card yet (we may, who knows!) but we received an email 2 days after applying welcoming us to the united club.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's what triggered this.

Crazy tool is on mobile so he dosent notice when you bold out.

It dosent matter what phone he's using as long he's on the WAP version.

Could we stay on topic.

They were both United Explorer cards. Both from the USA.

One just called again and was told that after the approval and before he got the card his account was compromised (sounds like Chase doesn't have the story straight either) . He asked why is that different then if my card is stolen I don't need to reapply! Of course no answer was given.

I would actually be very suprised if thats whats triggered it, tons of people I know, are applying 3bm's from Israel every few months, never had a problem.

so do you think we should come to the conclusion of no 3bm from foreign countrys??
the ba card that i got instantly approved for and is "live" was done from an "incongnito" (whatever the word is) does that by any chance block the ip address?

Red flag does not equal don’t do it. I once had a new card with a 25K CL. My first charge was 23k. Big red flag and the charge was denied. After a call the charged was approved.

also, it would trigger a red flag on the app, it doesn't make sense that they would approve it and then cancel. presumably, the only reason they would approve and then cancel is if some new information came to light after the instant approval. a 2/3bm, in which the computer didn't register the multiple apps at time of first approval seems like a more likely candidate.

well i just got off the phone with reconsideration about my united explorer application (not the club card which got instantly approved then reversed) which was pending/denied, and before even speaking to me they transferred me to someone who said it got denied and they cannot push it through if i want it i must reapply, and they have no more information

i drove the lady in circles all she was saying was reapply "as we have told you before"( i think she was referring to the other times i called about my club card)
3bm did not work for me!!

i am on the phone with them thanks crazy tools for adding me in and keeping us in the loop i will do the same thanks for strting a feed i kept on going in circles looking for the right feed...i also told the lady right now that i will not sign up again and get 2 new pulls on my credit score...

but what if i do sign up MR. crazy tools.... i think its only bad if we apply for a mortgage with in 6 months as of now i am not doing that so maybe ill just reapply on the phone and even try to use it as leverage for more than first yr free and the 55k! i have my savings with chase - they technically have a lot more to loose for me leaving
