Author Topic: Help Amex closed my account (Read 6075 times)

i opened 2 weeks ago a new amex spg and i used it today for 3000 at my friend's business and they automatically closed the account because they said that they found a affiliation between me and that business and therefore my account is closed because they don't let these things, i called and tryed to ask if there is anything i can do they told me No, is there anything i can do??

"looks" wow banks are scary these days
(there a reports about 3 diff banks doing these kind of things today on the forums)

well anyways maybe try showing them a receipt that you bought something....

How would they find that connection/know that??
Is it just me freaked out by that?

I, along with many others, do charges much larger than $3K without issue.

The amount of the charge in and of itself wasn't the trigger.

I just got a the AMEX Platinum my first charge was for 15k and had no problem, you should just call them before you make the charge and tell them you make a lot of large purchases and you shouldn't have any issues

How would they know this? Unless it was purely a lucky guess, but they're going out on a limb by using that reason, so I figure that they must have had stronger evidence.

i just figured out how they knew that there was a connection, i has a second amex card that i once made a payment that came from that business where i charged now , therefore they closed both of my amex
