I am flying on Turkish Airlines this summer from NY to TLV with a stopover in Istanbul and I ordered the kosher meals. I was unable to find what supervision they have, if any, for their meals from their website. Is anyone aware of what supervision they use? Is there a difference between flying from NY to Istanbul and flying from Istanbul to NY?
Thanks for all the valuable info.
When I flew them last year, JFK-IST was a meal from NYC -probably OU IIRC.
All the other segments (IST-TLV, TLV-IST, IST-NYC) were all from Turkey and were Glatt Kosher under the Hashgocho of OK, and the Turkey (or Istanbul?) Chief Rabbinate.
But IIRC, the Teudah was signed by Don Yoel Levi (head of the OK) and said that all the food is under the direct supervision of Rabbi Chitrik, the Chabad Shliach (?) to Istanbul.
So, AFAIC, the food is mehadrin min hamehadrin!
