I'm looking at a flight and it says that the flight is serviced by non-jet equipment type, what is that?

Direct comparisons of the safety records of jet
aircraft and propeller planes are not compiled by
any agency or group, but industry executives
generally agree that the rate of accidents resulting
in deaths on propeller planes has been two to
three times that of jets.
Just to get you scared, but seriously its more important for you to get a pair of qc15's for your flight than a parachute as they are noisier and since they fly lower suffer from a lot more turbulence

Commercial props are a lot safer than the single engine non-commercial, which most accidents happen in.

They are loud, noisy and fly low. I once had pilot announce "we'll be just grazing the tree tops at 8500 ft"

It happens to be nice if you're flying over something significant like Manhattan (LGA-PHL)

The flight I ended up taking didn't seem to fly that low.

Usually the pilots seat right in front of you, so it is a bit scary these days. (no door that separates passengers and pilots)  (The pilots are also rookies, so keep that in mind)
