This. Or maybe separate card numbers per AU so they can break it down on the statement?
The IB has different card number for each AU.

All business cards do.
But I will ask if there are any VCN plans.

They're not interested in that market.

Two letters: AS.

Do that and AmEx MR may be in the dust... permanently.

I'll bring it up again, but the UR guy last year was quite confident that UR had the most valuable partners and that they didn't need to bring on more airlines as MR is already beat in that category.

And quite frankly he's right, except for the MR bonuses which he had no interest in dabbling in.

UR is definitely beating MR. UA + HGP certifies that.

But beating isn't obliterating. Beating isn't turning AmEx into Discover...

AS (and to a lesser more improbable extent AA) will accomplish that. I'll leave xfer bonuses for another day.

AA is not going to happen, period.
AS won't either, I'm sure BOFA makes sure of that or else AMEX would have signed em on.

BofA is just languishing in the CC space. No, not as badly as Discover, but even Barclay's is starting to get aggressive. AS is ripe for the pillaging. I can't wait for MR or UR to pick 'em up. Both are tremendous businesses with loads of cash. To the victor will go the spoils.

Citi already bought billions of miles from AA (there's a number somewhere), so that cannot really change in the near future. The only change that might happen is that Barclay might take it over, which according to the reports, is also unlikely.

AA was just thrown in. They've already married and remarried Citi.

I'm more hopeful with AS.

At the risk of sounding #stupid. If AA flights can be booked with Avios anyway, why would that make such a big difference if added as a transfer partner?

For starters:

1) BA imposes YQ on many of its routes. AA does not.
2) AA has different partners.

1) BA imposes YQ on many of its routes. AA does not.
2) AA has different partners.

Again, I am probably fundamentally wrong about something but these were my impressions:

1) If you use BA avios to fly on AA, the YQ is different than if you used AA miles? I thought YQ had to do with what airline you are flying, not the currency you are using to book.
2) I thought AA and BA were both part of oneworld, along with AB and others? What are the additional partners AA has that BA doesn't? Yes, I searched DDF before asking this.

Not an uncommon misconception, but:

1) Exactly the opposite -- whether YQ is assessed is determined per the terms of the mileage currency one is using, not the airline he or she is flying, though the amount of YQ is determined by the operating carrier.
2) You're correct, however, AA partners with HA, EY and LY (among a number of others), while BA does not.

AA was just thrown in. They've already married and remarried Citi.

I'm more hopeful with AS.

If Citi was smart they'd turn TYP into a transferable points program. Redemptions would cost their more, but they'd get more business. But they'd arguably have to add some decent travel partners to the mix, AA and (post-devaluation) Hilton might not cut it.

But I will ask if there are any VCN plans.

Great idea :D, and one they might actually be open to.

Thank you! Between these, and being able to top off AA accounts from citi cards, I see the benefit of UR-->AA.

Not that it affects me, but why aren't all their call centers as good and helpful as the SP number? Would it cost them that much extra?

Also any plans of competing with SBS? Maybe make a neighborhood stores Sunday?
