Does anyone here sell on Amazon? I have a quick question, but not sure if this is the right place to post.

I have MANY gripes with Amazon, but the latest really irritates me. I have been getting lately a few chargebacks form APO addresses stating they never received their packages although USPS clearly shows delivered. Amazon automatically charges back the payment & disregards all appeals with the answer “No signature – no payment”. However, it is my understanding that there is no such thing as signatures on APO addresses but Amazon doesn’t care.
Is there ANY recourse or I just let them steal my money? Not selling to APO addresses is not really an option since I do plenty of business with the military, however if this keeps up I may just have no choice but drop APO address on Amazon.

Here is their last response:

While we understand your concerns about this transaction, we cannot reverse the claim decision at this time.

We can only change this claim upon receiving direct communication from the buyer stating that the item was received with authorization to recharge them for the purchase. Otherwise, please consider this claim closed.

Start charging more for APo that way it can offset te losses and it doesn't affect ur place in the buy box

Thanks, never thought of that. However, doesnt the buy box calculate shipping too? Or does it only calculate domestic shipping?

I have sold a lot on Amazon.

I'm not sure who is worse - Amazon or Paypal?!?!

But in these cases unless it a lot of money I wouldn't waste the time to fight them... I have tried in a few instances. But the way I look at it, is that you have to make enough profit to cover these losses for it to be worth selling...

Sorry for not being so optimistic about this ;)

I think the biggest Chuzpah (which unfortunately happened to me twice over the last ten years) is that they try charging $1.00 to your credit card on file before every disbursement. If the charge doesn’t go through (for example, you forgot to update your expiration date!) they withhold YOUR money for another 15 days! I just can’t get over that Chutzpah.

It simply does not pay to fight with the behemoths. You will exert too much energy and they wont even flinch. As a business owner this really needs to be built into your costs. Additionally, on occasion they will let you pass depending on your history etc so my advice would be to pick your fights, chronic complaining with them wont do the trick. the less you correspond with them and build up your track record as a good seller the better they will deal with you. It is known that their tone changes with the third party sellers over time. In the beginning they'll be more friendly and then it takes a downward tone etc. There is always articles about amazons unethical practices - the most recent one i read was from the wall street journal just a few days ago i think 6/27 you can probably google - it was titled ''competing with amazon on amazon'' just to give you an idea of the kind of people that you're dealing with.

you should higher price on amazon for APO to counter the amount of claims and if u get box anyway why not higher price for shipping to apo fpo,
but as a experienced  seller on amazon technically with all USPS shipment if buyer claims not received he will win claim and definitely not worth paying the extra amount for signature confirmation so u have to avg that amount into cost i would say percentage of such claims are 1 in 500
