Correct, I have friends that have it much worse.

Hopefully 0 nights past 10 and probably most Sundays for a few hours through March. Nice that my wife will be starting Sunday clinicals this semester.  :)

While it is tax season, I'm not a tax accountant. To me it's just busy season. There's no real name for it - many companies end their year on 12/31, so now we have to audit their past year's financials.

Every job has it's busy times. Can't stand when people rip on a certain profession because you may have to actually work hard. There's no such thing as making a living and supporting your family without putting in the work. You're getting paid. Earn it.

Not all jobs have a few month block of time that is referred to, cleverly, as "busy season"
so, although you are correct for the most part, accounting is a different breed. I think another factor is that they put in all that extra time but arent typically, as far as i know, compensated accordingly.

I agree with the compensation comment. Accountants should be compensated better. But many people view Big 4 (or any big firm) accounting as a stepping stone to something greater (with better compensation). My main issue is that this forum (and society in general) is littered with people making comments implying that you shouldn't take a job if it means that you'll actually have to work, and that if you do, you're an idiot. @Yehuda didn't "sell his soul to the devil." He made a responsible decision to go work and support his wife and family.
