Yup! I filed a police report in NYC and called 3 days later to follow up only to find out it was never filed. The stats are meaningless.

They're under intense pressure to say they're improving crime rates.  It's a heckuva lot easier to improve them by not reporting them than actually fixing the problem.

Fair enough (I'm witness to plenty of that too), but it don't seem that PIT is quite the safest place either (unless they cheat the other way?! ??? ).

Every city has safe and dangerous parts.

Would you rather be on 13th Ave or Schenectady Ave late at night?

Anyway my point is fairly simply.  If you leave something like a chair or a GPS in view in your car in Brooklyn it'll be gone within hours.
Outside of NYC that would be the exception rather than the rule.

Simple. Most other Jewish communities are built in the safe neighborhoods of those cities. Showing me citywide statistics is meaningless.
