She said she already told them to buy a seat next time and it's the GAs call. Just brought the car seat back to the front to be checked. Unreal.

I can understand why they would not allow you to bring car seats aboard without purchasing a seat as a matter of policy. It can add time and hassle and make the flight leave late, but definitely don't come on board and make them take it down to the cargo hold.

Why did they come aboard for anyways? I'm curious about that.

GAs sometimes come onboard for a count. In this case, it was probably because the mother asked them about the carseat and they were on a power trip, as the FA told me they were.

How does it make you leave later? Done it on Southwest numerous times and their whole thing is boarding speed

I've had it with AA lga-dfw gate agent said no, then head FA said sure, we were the last row and we had empty middle seat, as I was making the way down the aisle I heard screaming, hey stop right now and the gate agent made me take out the baby and she took off the doona, and at DFW the gate agent and the FA had no issue to take up my doona they were just so much friendlier then the NY agent
