-No E+/F option.
-I don't care for the roulette onboard to see what seat you'll get or if you'll have an empty middle vs seeing the seat map.
-No seat back entertainment.
-WiFi didn't work for the first 90 minutes.
-Stingy little cup of soda/water.
You should start a Friends don't let friends fly WN thread..
IMHO, WN is the best airline for domestic travel with families without status.
Free baggage
No carry-on limitations to sacrifice for cheaper flights
Family boarding before B group means you always get good seats with your family.
I don't have the data on this, but anecdotally, their on-time performance is fantastic. Yes, I'm aware of the recent catastrophe(s), but on the whole, they are amazing.
Free flight changes
In-flight and gate customer service is uber friendly
Companion pass might be the most underrated value in the "mileage game".
The major drawback (for me) is the lack of direct flights on the route(s) I fly most. Delta is better, and they check some of those other boxes, but they are usually way more expensive.
-No E+/F option.
Without status - those who wouldn't be getting upgraded anyway. For those who would pay for that for the family, skip this whole post.
-I don't care for the roulette onboard to see what seat you'll get or if you'll have an empty middle vs seeing the seat map.
See above for family boarding. And about getting an empty middle, I don't have a link handy, but I saw a IG reel of a hack: The guy was sitting on his seat and as the other passengers walked by, he tapped the empty seat in a welcoming inviting way with a nice wide smile on his face.
-No seat back entertainment.
They have more options to use with your own device (and headphones, now that aux headphones aren't so ubiquitous) than some airlines with seat back entertainment have. And with kids, this is a plus for me personally, as I don't want them using IFE anyway.
-WiFi didn't work for the first 90 minutes.
Happens on any airline.
-Stingy little cup of soda/water.
Same as most airlines, no? Never been refused asking for more.
