Canceling Starwood Card

I got the Starwood card Feb 2008 got the 10,000 bonus and just got the 15,000. Is it a problem to just cancel the card? I'm worried about my credit score. Second question on my wifes Starwood card she has a 40,000 limit which she never uses more than 15,000 in any given month. Should I reduce it to 24,000?
