What's your favorite App for free texting?

I am looking to download an ANDROID app so I can text my folks in Israel for free. 

I see GOsMS, Pinger, Handcent etc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Also, are there any that can't see your contact info?

Well than go for it I haven't tried them out really but I have what's app and like it and my friends who have had others like it the most

Kik Messenger is not as popular as WhatsApp, but is much faster and requires invites, so more privacy than WhatsApp which adds anyone who has your number. Its exactly like BBM. Doesn't work well on BlackBerry but its the best on the other platforms IMHO.
