« on: June 27, 2012, 02:06:17 PM »
Hey guys, I got a stashfull of MR points, I needa book a ticket for me and my wife and 2 month old from tlv to toronto. I can't get any reward tickets for the dates I want, the only thing I got which is affordable in business class is aerosvit, can you guys give me the run down on it? Tlv-yyz, how are the seat service etc? Its costing me 2500 a tick round trip. Pics are also good! Thanks so much.

I personally would probably prefer flying coach on a normal airline (at the same price).

Sell your MR.

Safety/on time concerns. Really depends, I can't make up my mind what I would do.

I doubt it's anything but a roped off economy middle seat on the flight to TLV.

Check LOT, they have an awesome business class, WAW is very nice, and they often have unpublished cheap biz fares to TLV

so no one has flown with aerosvit business class? 1900 for me to go  lufthansa coach with no guaranteed bassinet, aerosvit 2500 business with guaranteed bassinet.
lay over on lot in WAW is 13hrs. where as aerosvit layover is 2 hrs both ways. AC and elal direct to yyz are well over the 2K mark.
time is of the essence.

TATL biz is very nice IMHO. Airport is small clean & nice. Not sure what the matzav is on the TLV>WAW flight, I think it varies.

KSML is a nightmare. On the TLV>WAW planes are often empty. It leaves TLV @ 6:00 so 3 seats to sleep on make a huge difference. Flight times aren't so optimal and Warsaw wouldn't be my first choice to spend a day in, especially after the first time. If you go, make sure to check out Tree Some Cafe or s/t like that, one of my favorite coffee stores in the world. Clean bathroom if you need to GO.

Solid carrier.

Same here... my experience was not nearly as bad as some people make them out to be. Just gets you from point A to point B, don't expect great amenities.

My personal experience is reflected here:

http://www.travelfirst.com/pays3/aerosvit/aerosvit_business_class_bangkok_kiev_prague.html

After flying with Aerosvit VV business class from Kiev to Bangkok, a few months ago, I just can say a few things which might help you:

-Old fashion, though comfortable business class cabin: no lie-flat, but you get 150° for a convenient sleep.

-You get nothing to do but reading or sleeping; the quite friendly cabin crew will probably give you an Archos tablet for "entertainment"... Old movies in Russian language, plus some dull American movies. And Archos sucks: I never could use this bloody tablet correctly.

-Food: I found it amazingly yummy. Super fresh salads. Great pastries! Beef is boiled, the Russian -or Ukrainian- way. Unappealing. They serve good fish. Wine is Ukrainian; vodka and "Cognac" Russian; but they do not serve Champagne (unless you like the local "sekt", made in Odessa...).

-I was lucky: no delay at all. Anyhow, business class passengers are invited to join the nice VIP lounge in Kiev, and cozy Thai Airways Lounge in Bangkok.

-GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY! This made me forget the plain Jane aspect of this cheap, though reliable airlines.
