Might be context dependent. The Aruch Hashulchans wife wore the pants in the house so to speak. She ran the fabric business; her husband didn’t even know how to get to the store. It may have seemed preposterous to ask her to pour him his cup, but actually one of the chores a women is mechuyav to do for her husband is to be מוזגת לו את הכוס so it’s hard to imagine the Aruch Hashulchan was generalizing a minhag for all future generations that is contrary to a משנה that is brought down as halacha pesukah.

If it were more context dependent that any other Halacha, why would he be writing it in a Halacha sefer?
