i just received an email from hertz inviting me to join platinum for only $750 instead of $1500.
did anyone else get this?

im pc, and i've never rented with hertz. the email said "your one of our best customers".......
yes its a code, wondering if anyone else got it so we can see if its the same

Being a PC member, it's actually $750 instead of $1200. Still might be worth it considering all the benefits, specifically the 4 hour grace period.
BTW, would that be lifetime status?

It's always $1200 instead of $1500 for PC.

Because officially you have to re-qualify for Hertz PC every year with 40 rentals (or 7k/120 days...), even though they've always been very easy on that.

It seems to be a annual fee so I really can't see the benefits justifying $750/yr.!!

where do you rent most often? in nyc area they dont seem to give much respect to platinum and prob wont get better upgrades then luxury. the T&C say thats all you get. so benefit over pc would basically be pickup/drop off from terminal (maybe even from house, i think thats what the csr said to me on the phone) and 4hour grace

You're right for most locations. The Hertz at 20 Morris in lower Manhattan has woman who is very professional and courteous, whereas the 13th St. location is a disaster.
PC also has a guaranteed upgrade, only difference being that PC is limited to Full, and plat SEEMS to always get you an upgrade.
I also just found an great cdp to get a 4 hour grace period no matter what status!! It's CDP#211762 - officially exclusivly with amex plat, but ppl have been successful without the card as well.

whats the car selection like there, do they normally have nicer cars or usually only up to full size?
i didnt realize pc only gets u to full.

Both have a nice size fleet, E13th's is larger though, but CS is horrible. I personally prefer Morris St.
"Officially" PC's upgrades only got until full, though I've been upgraded to Luxury (and even better) by unknowledgeable/courteous agents (best is a combination of both

!!)
