What if only taxpayers were allowed to vote...
« on: June 29, 2012, 12:34:53 AM »
50% of Americans are not paying income tax.

What if the constitution could be changed, so that ONLY taxpayers can vote?

My answer:

Romney: 99.9% - Obama: 0.01%

Sorry, let me rephrase my question:

If only income tax payers and conservative Jews were allowed to vote...

Conservative Jews are actually quite Liberal and pay taxes.

Its the Orthodox that would vote for Romney, but sometimes don't pay taxes.

You misunderstood me, I didn't mean "conservative" as opposed to "reform" or "orthodox", I meant "conservative" as opposed to "liberal".

Orthodox Jews are "conservative".

Also, Orthodox Jews vote republican because they are concerned about the safety of Israel.

Not a smart idea.
If only taxpayers were allowed to vote, they would elect a far right conservative that would impose taxes on the poor at the same rate the wealthy are paying (see Herman Cain 999 plan, Rick Perry 20% flat rate) so you are back with the same problem: Obama wins....

You're forgetting one important factor: Democrats are allowed to cheat in elections.
Part of the vast right wing conspiracy.

Not true. Your forgetting the 10% of the country that doesn't file at all. They all vote Democrat

Forget about taxpayers, the Dems have fought tooth and nail against enforcing picture ID for voters.

On the voter picture ID topic, I agree with the republicans 100%.
Its so easy to vote in someone else's name if you know he's not participating in the elections.
Its the only way to prevent fraud, and the Dem opposition to it was solely based on seld-interest' not so -called civil rights.

The republicans pushing for a voter ID has nothing to do with fraud.

I know that's not their inner intentions, but still, they have a legitimate argument.
