Got the match to *G on Turkish Air...would they upgrade from economy to Biz if there was seat available on flight with Turkish gold status?

Is it very unlikely?

There is a LAX-IST-TLV flight for a great price w/  just 1 hour in between and it seems tempting with my Turkish status...

Keep in mind many airlines require tickets that are upgradable to be booked in a certain class so you will need to find out what is considered upgradable and what not.
