Just had a really cool bump story. I had a one way with stopover from lga to lax, I got to lga and was told that my flight was delayed and I wouldn't be able to catch my connection. I was changed to a direct from jfk, and I got them to pay for a taxi. I got on the list to get bumped, and sure enough I was bumped. Here:s what I got:
A hotel for the night
$600 voucher
Confirmed first class for tomorrow morning
$30 food voucher
Taxi to/from hotel

I've been bumped in the past, but none were as lucrative as this one.

My best bump was with airtran. Got 2 free flights anywhere they fly and my 2nd flight got me in 30 minutes earlier because the first ones connection was delayed

My favorite story happened to a friend of mine. They won 4 tickets to Israel in some raffle. And on that flight they got bumped to a flight the next day and got 4 more tickets. Then on the way home... bumped again.

I mean i'd be happy with just a free ticket especially because it's a free trip in the first place. This is all assuming the kids won't miss out on their tours because of this. So unless you know the other bids I think even $50 or is still worth it...
