MEL / SYD - TLV using Delta skymiles

Will Delta allow you to go via Vietnam Air thru Paris to Tel Aviv?
Or Korean Air into Europe etc...?

Any other advise if possible to use Delta skymiles for MEL-TLV bookings?

U can also go MEL>ICN>TLV directly on KE. Don't forget delta can book virgin Aussie

Checked KE award availability, it's basically only on First which I think is not bookable thru Delta... how much would KE charge for such a trip OW and RT on first?

how did u check KE eco/biz availability? EF doesn't show biz avail ouside Japan. Plentiful avail IME. Call DL.

DL cannot book First awards.

Look at Koreans chart, and more importantly look at their blackout peak days.

Keep in mind that DL blocks out all KE flights for all peak dates not just the ones of that region.

KE to MEL-TLV will have an overnight in ICN. The return has a great connection.

IIRC SYD-TlV doesn't work either (their whole flight schedule is messed up for connections). If it does just grab a Qantas MEL-SYD for 4.5k avios & ~$16

KE outbound connections from MEL/SYD through ICN are horrendous for almost every destination...

Just another tidbit, DL can book virgin aussie domestic flights only in conjunction with int'l virgin aussie flights.

Same applies to a lot of Eastern cities connecting Westward. Their Kosmo F is very nice, but I know people who've declined itover safety standards.

They can book it with DL flights as well. e.g DL LAX-SYD>VA SYD MEL.

I read some stuff online about them being sub standard years ago, but improved now. I wouldn't think twice before flying 'em. People think about Korean as something like a Russian carrier I guess.
