Macys July 4 Fireworks

Hi,

Does anyone have any good ideas where I would be able to see the Macys July 4 fireworks show??

I am looking for a quite place, It does not have to be right next to the water.

New Jersey is an option, I will be coming from Brooklyn, So I would need parking.

Any ideas????

I was actually considering making it a night out with my wife and staying in a hotel on the Jersey side for the fireworks. That would allow us to avoid having to trek home after, which from my experience 2 years ago is a big reason not to go. Doesn't sound like that's what you're looking for, but I'll put the info out there anyway for others that are interested. I chatted CS on SPG.com and found out that of the 3 Starwood hotels on the Jersey side of the Hudson, they all say they won't guarantee a room with a view of the fireworks, but the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor says they provide access to guest-only spaces on their property for viewing the fireworks.

It's not cheap, but it may well provide a great viewing as it's right in the thick of the barges.

All the best places will cost you a pretty penny, and even then most of those are sold out by now. I've only ever viewed it from the street, I think it was 33rd between 11th and 12th. It's a great view, but you're in these huge crowds and getting home is an ordeal. I'd imagine it doesn't compare to an elevated view though.

Some of the paid ticket only highlights include:

Up close:
USS Intrepid
Circle Line Pier

Rooftop:
Empire State Building
Hudson Terrace

Then there are the zillion or so boat cruise options.
