SOS my HI trip is in jeopardy!!

So I have a 2 island trip to maui and big island planned for 8/19. my wife and i have 2 free nights each at hyatt and i just tried to book the rooms. they aid there is no availability during that week for free award nights. the other option is spending 800+ on a decent hotel for 5 nights which is an expense i cannot afford.
ANY IDEAS?
can i put myself on a waiting list? is it possible for me to sell my free nights to someone and use that money?

I don't know Hyatt rules in this situation but as to selling them, are they suite nights or regular rooms

they are reg nights. i have hilton gold and was planning on matching before the trip to get the suite upgrade

You cant use suite upgrades on free nights (officially).

You had to match before applying to get the 2 suite nights.

With Starwood platinum sometimes they can open up availability for you maybe if you match to diamond they can do the same I don't know just hypothesizing

He obviously won't get upgraded if there's no availability.

Yes, but Hyatt Maui isn't the most accommodating of properties IME.

Those were my original dates for the free nights as well but they were "sold out" 3 months ago.......chose GH Kauai instead

They're don't generally open standard rooms as other properties would and they also don't upgrade diamonds to a suite unless you pay/use a suite cert for it.
