I actually have gone away for a week when my daughter was 8 months old. But B"H she is good, and we had an amazing time.

around here "vacation" is pretty much defined as a (free) stay in a 5 star hotel without kids :)

IME you are right many times, but it is possible, it can be done. Maybe by making a more relaxed schedule of activities etc. so you won't be knocked out, and put the kids to sleep early and enjoy a nice quiet walk. Sometimes while the kids are running around, you can have time together.

But, it is not the same thing.
