Waiving the Airlines phone booking fee...

What was your experience?

IME:
UA - they'll waive anytime, with any silly excuse.
DL - Will waive very easily.
BA - they'll escalate to a supervisor or try to verify your excuse (like: wasn't bookable online etc..)
AA - a no go (on non elite accounts).

When I cancel a refundable ticket on AA, do I get refunded the phone booking fee?

Aeroplan will forward u to the Internet help desk, you have to have an error code (if aeroplan.com doesn't work).

Sometime I feel like the airline deserves those $25...

I couldn't get the UA phone agent to waive the fee and I booked the ticket anyway. Any chance of me getting them to waive it now? (after the fact)

Still can't get over the fact that 80% of UA reps are extremely undertrained..

when i was trying to book a ticket for my brother (minor) on Delta, since i couldnt do it online so they waived the fee, but while i was at it i asked to book my ticket as well (flying with my brother) and she said i will have to pay the $25 fee or book online!
