i ran a credit report/scores last month with citi. i had 771, 770 and 776

i just had few quotes done with geico.........so i decided to check it again

i got 768, 749, and 771!

what happened???

i dont even see any inquiries from geico!

how long will it take me to get it back?

i did get a new lease in may, but i checked my score after that and it was still in the 770's for all CRA.

does pulling my scores with citi effect my scores as well?

this sucks!

they were probably all FAKOs which is why they vary. You're real score probably didn't change much

Also the differences aren't that great so even with FICO it would be possible to have such differences month to month depending on your card balances

citi identity monitor gives the real score i believe. besides, even if they were fako's why did it go down?

citi doesn't give the real score.

also, would geico make it go down so much?

do creditors go by fako or fico?

FAKOs, might be due to utilization change and/or inquiry on the score that dropped from 770-749.

Checking your credit report/score doesn't hurt your credit.
Only if a company checks it counts as an inquiry and then it hurts you.

only fico gives you the real score. ,yOu should be able to get your real score every time you apply for a card as the bank most likely uses your real score.

Insurance companies IME do soft pulls which don't hurt youre credit.

two should definitely be enough to give you an idea of your credibilty

Fico doesn't score Experian. They used to up until 3-4 years ago.
Check your Experian from a different company and "give yourself a score" by comparing the items in Experian to the ones in the other two bureaus. The variants should be minimal..

For the record, when you get a mortgage, they take the middle of your 3 scores. So for example if your scores are 770, 800, 820, they will put you down as an 800. (Median not average).
