Trust me that the Muslims in MLE are much friendlier than the imposters that will greet you with those flower rings at LIH. The Hawaiian "Culture" is possibly the fakest one I've ever seen with the exception of Native Americans. On my last day in Hawaii I told my wife that if one more idiot put on a fake smile and said Aloha to me I'd deck them.
WOW!!!

Oh and one last thing.

This is totally worth causing Shalom Bayis issues over :)
Only one question, have you actually been to LIH or ITO (or ideally MKK) or are you one of those HNL/OGG drive-byes?

Is the "Culture" so different in LIH? Not knocking the Islands themselves. Just the whole attitude and service level there. Hawaii is a great place to vacation, just IMHO, not worth the travel time from the East Coast as opposed to other destinations

As I thought :D

Reminds me of the moshul of the guy who asks his wife to make a royal meal like eaten by the kings but then substitutes poor ingredients for everything and then judges the dish based on that.

So you are saying the culture in LIH is more authentic?

HNL and arguably OGG depending on what you do there.
Waikiki and Kaanapali just don't do it for me.

10 trips I haven't taken yet that I'd like to:

Bora Bora
Argentina/Peru
New Zealand
Iceland
China (Shanghai/Beijing)
Costa Rica
Lanai/Molokai
Alaska
Banff
Southern Europe: Greece/Spain/Portugal
