Nah.
Good herring is delicious for after a fast.
It's the same inyan as having it Shabbos after davening at the kiddush on an empty stomach.

I pop 2 advils with the Tropicana b4 I even start eating. Works wonders!

Bad. I used to get splitting headaches after the fast because I drank a gallon within an hour. Somebody suggested cutting down on the water and it works wonders.

I drink most of my water an hour or two later.
