Help with United Airlines Booking
« on: July 08, 2012, 03:32:24 PM »
Hope this thread is correct if not - Mod please place accordingly

I am looking to go LAX-YVR and then SEA-LAX-TLV...

If I were to purchase 3 o/w tickets i.e. LAX-YVR, SEA-LAX and LAX-TLV it would be about $1090....if I were to purchase one joint itinerary from United for the same segments it would price out at $1150...

Question - is it worth the extra $60 per pax to have it on one itinerary?

TIA

If it's one airline/alliance they'll still take care of you.

it's all UA except for maybe one segment on AC..so I guess I'll do it separately..suppose it worth the effort for the savings...thx

I'm looking to cancel a booking I have for Tuesday. UA wants to charge me $150 x 2 since the booking was booked as 2 separate one ways.

Is there any way to get out of paying this fee?

upside- if its on one itin- isnt it better for milage/suitcases/upgrades?
downside - if its each leg seperatly you get the min milage for each which sometimes is greater than one itin?

Next Q - looked at my itinerary online and saw it says the plane is a 777-200. Called in and a CSR confirmed that is the case. Thing is, I currently have seats in Economy + on TLV-EWR as well as on the EWR-LAX portion...is this really the case?

I certainly didn't pay for the upgrade and didn't think the planes have three classes i.e. Biz, Eco+ and Eco regular...anyone know what is the story?

TIA

Not on all of them, I'm pretty sure the TLV plane didn't get them yet. (As of 30 days ago it certainly didn't have Eco +)

Flight 85 shows it is operating with an economy plus cabin today.
http://www.united.com/web/en-US/apps/travel/flightstatus/results.aspx?NFT=SM

Today's Flight 91 does shows just economy but tomorrow it looks like it will have an economy plus cabin. I guess one of the planes on the EWR - TLV rotation does have the upgraded cabin.
