MLE is 50% farther (from NYC), yet somehow we make it work.

It's not about distance, though, it's about number of options to get there, and there's a whole bunch to MLE, and only TN and AF to BOB, both of whose products stink.

NZ, but good luck finding NZ J.
They actually used to fly LAX-PPT.  Very sad when it went away.

I was just saying the top two in terms of frequency and accessibility.

But, if we're including NZ J, we may as well be more complete:

HA from HNL, and
LA from IPC.

I mean when you're within spitting range of the most beautiful islands on earth, you don't stay in their armpit for any longer than a connection.

No, you do shabbas in Moorea, which is also beautiful, and is only a 30 min boat ride to PPT, or even better a few minutes flight. Plenty of time if shabbas ends 6:30 PM.

Quick glance shows no flights or ferries from MOZ-PPT after dusk.

Dunno why more people don't go to Bora Bora over the Maldives. It sounds like the PPT-BOB flight costs the same amount as the seaplanes from MLE to the hotel. Plus it's closer.

Hotels are more expensive, very few private pool options, flights are harder to get, no first class or even lie-flat business class, no *A flights from the US, dateline/shabbos issues, it's rainy during winter in the US, et al.
