I also checked BOB IHG Thalasso for 50K IHG OWB calendar and if your pretty flexible they got some good availability for the IHG OWB.

Not sure which BOB IHG Thalasso you checked, but the availability is anything but "good."

Not a single three-day award stay throughout the next year, and only a couple two-day stays scattered.

Odd, when I checked (granted this was several months ago), availability was respectable during off peak periods. By no means did you have your pick of the litter, but you could make it work with moderate flexibility

It depends on when you check, I've seen some "closer" to arrival dates some OWB have 3 night for 50K, it seems like it keeps on changing, kinda like securing F on premium flights, closer to departure date sometimes more F opens.

Bump

Most of the OWB's have private plunge pools, see 4s for example.

Is it possible to upgrade the LM to the villa with a pool when booking a standard bungalow using SPGs?

I'm confused; you're considering BOB, but not MLE?

--Hard products to BOB are terrible
--Availability is more difficult
--Trip time is virtually the same as MLE
--Still have the "issue" of an infant in an OWB
--Fewer loyalty hotels

I might have an option of the leaving the infant behind. I am just looking at all options before making my final decision. I have not had an easy time finding availability to and from MLE without being there for shabbos whereas with BOB I can be in CA for shabbos.

I have never looked at Tahiti's master thread but I just found this online. For tickets booked before April one child (under 15) can ride for free from LAX to PPT.

That would require:
1. Actually bringing kids to an OWB.
2. Actually paying $$$$ for a ticket.
3. Actually flying coach on a long-haul.

You would only have to pay taxes for the kids and that's not a lot. and its only 8 hours away

Kids in an OWB sounds more like a nightmare than a vacation.
