No question. St. Regis.
Is that from experience?

No, but everything I've ever read has said the Four Seasons and St. Regis are 1A and 1B and everything else a notch below

Bummer! Just got the Le Meridien OWB for 274 USD and 30K SPG points for 2 nights. Have you heard anything good about it?
Bump. Did you end up going?

Later this year.

Frankly, though, after all the research, I think I'd rather just return to MLE, for my money/points.

Conrad MLE is probably the single best redemption in the Hilton portfolio, and being HH DIA, I'd have a decent shot at an upgrade to OWB with plunge pool. And, even if I didn't, their beach villas look phenomenal to the point where I almost wouldn't even care if I got the upgrade.

Whereas, the points options in BOB look... underwhelming, even if you are able to win the lotto and find an OWB at IC Thalasso, the room looks... old.

Sure, there is the Hilton BOB, and the LM BOB (both of which only have plunge pools at the tippty top end, read: presidential villas), the topography is better, but combined with the routing options, I think MLE takes the nod.

Most of the above can be discarded if one is prepared to drop $1500/night at St. Regis or Four Seasons.

Guess I'll be the only one to experience both. I'm heading to BOB in June and working out MLE for February.

I care more for the real hard product, which is the location.

I start my preference with the Hardest to get to places, most dangerous, Most beautiful ETC...... first, than work my way down.

If I'd need to hike there, so be it

Routing options were but a fraction of my post.

...unless of course you consider accommodations AND routing options to not be "real" hard product.

To me, a trip comprises plane + hotel + destination.  For me, a trip must have at least 2/3.

If it's all about destination for you, then it doesn't matter if you, as you say hiked, and slept in a tent, but for me it takes more.

Besides, I didn't cancel my BOB trip :P

Some rooms do.

Besides, the reputed service at those places may even make up for it apparently.

Is this a positive guess or you saw such reports?

I think I'll stick with the Le Meridian, I got a good rate ( relative) for the best room, the premier Mt Otemanu View, that would save me over $1200 for 2 nights VS the St. Regis standard.

Hope I'm doing the right thing
