If customs is still "out of order" like it was with us, there's no way you could make the flight unless you're the first one off the plane.

We landed 6am, were last in the passport lane and got out by 645.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. And VT specifically says they won't really help you out if you don't follow the min connection times, and it's the last flight of the day. Ugg...

How long ago was that?

Anyone successfully made it from NZ to PPT without overnighting in PPT? Seems almost impossible without the risk of missing the flight...

Last week.

PPT airport is officially under renovation, but it didn't seem to affect waiting times.

I'd risk it. Assuming you are flying J just make sure you are the first off the plane and if there is a line, figure things out :)

Was more than 45 mins for us. Probably closer to 60. And that's just passport control. Not getting bags, going to VT desk, checking in, going through (light)  security etc.

And if the baggae takes a while. Leave it and say you forgot it and they'll send it in the AM

Maybe there is a "VIP Service" there?

I'd probably also risk it, but if the international flight is even 20-30 mins late, he's stuck.

Where are you arriving from?

Assuming its AKL the flight lands on-time 100% of the time according to EF

My flight *from* PPT to AKL was delayed by a couple hours due to a delayed LAX PPT flight.

We were actually out by the TAXI with our bags by 6:45 (yet still missed our 7:15am ferry to Moorea due to heavy traffic) but obviously it's possible it will take longer

when dealing with LAX one should always account for delays. so far I'm 2 for 2 in last 6 months and hope to avoid that airport in the future as much as possible

Has anyone done BOB via AUS or NZ? I'll probably be coming from NZ after being there for around 8-9 days, concerned about how to bring food to BOB and where to get it from.

Don't think I can bring enough food from SYD for 9 days NZ and a week of BOB, or is there enough kosher food to be found...

Can pickup or have shipped from Auckland. They have frozen meals at Grey's Ave Deli.

Do they have a decent variety, and are the meals any good?
