Yes, I tried AU customer service and the long sell method. The award is showing on Qantas website which I mentioned and they state it's not available to them to book as an award flight. Which, frankly, I'm not sure if that's true or the agents just aren't trained to know how to get around.

Have no fear, I will NOT give up. I will keep trying over the next few days. Thanks all for input/suggestions.
NZ?

NZ?

Yes, I tried AU, NZ, Executive Platinum. Despite Expert flyer showing available, the agents keep stating that Air Tahiti only release a certain amount of rewards flights to AA and a certain amount to Qantas and the American rewards seats are all booked. After asking to book via Qantas since they are both OneWorld, the agents still said they couldn't. So if anyone has any ideas how to book business seats that are "reserved" for Qantas with AA miles, please let me know.

Expert Flyer is showing availability, but the agents are saying there is none. I have had them check "F" and "U" with no such luck. I have HUCA 4 times now. Any other ideas?
Where does EF pull from?
I think they may be blocking some, I've had this in the past where they can't see all.

Update for anyone trying to book in the future: I was able to secure 1 business class seat and 1 economy in mid-October. Despite ExpertFlyer showing availability, no agents were able to find award availability in business. I tried every trick that exists on the travel forums/blogs with no luck. I called the US call center, AU/NZ call center and never had any luck. Earlier this week, I was able to secure the other business class seat via AA.com! Once the seat showed up on AA.com, I then quickly called the US # and they were able to book without any issues. Hopefully I can save someone the time by calling everyday as it seems checking AA is sufficient. Good luck to any future hopefuls!

Planning on going away 10-14 days. Hope to do 5 nights BOB. Any recommendations on where to go After BOB?
Was thinking Island hopper but requires me to go to Japan or LAX (and then back to Hnl) first  which is a no go due to limited time.
Any other ideas? Keep in mind I have 4-8 days

Moorea is a beautiful island near Tahiti. If you end up there, I would recommend the Intercontinental Moorea.

So now....5 years later.... what’s your recommendations/regrets regarding your trip?
After being in BOB would you have preferred to explore other islands in the area?
Would you have preferred to explore NZ?
Did you end up doing GOR? How many days recommend for GOR?MEL?SYD?

How is le Meridien?
Currently only seeing availability for this one and only 4 nights ugh (what are odds space opens up later?)
Oddly, when I search st Regis shows availability but when I click on it it disappears (for multiple dates...)
ETA: what are best hotel point options? (Hilton is insane!)

Correct me if I'm wrong - the only itenerary that works from nyc to bob getting in a 3 night stay but avoiding being the from Thursday night thru motsei shabbos to avoid any shabbos shailos (i.e. having to keep dioyraysas on Thursday night/Friday etc) and using miles is -
Nyc to lax sometime before shabbos
Lax to ppt on af motsei shabbos flight 1130pm
Ppt to bob Sunday morning/afternoon
Bob to ppt Wednesday afternoon/ night
Ppt to lax on tn Wednesday night 1159pm
Lazy to nyc either on Thursday on same award
Or anytime after but would have to pay separately
Sorry I don't have any snarky line for this space
