Linking Chase Accounts
« on: January 12, 2012, 05:26:41 PM »
I recently opened a Chase Ink Bold card and a Freedom card plus a checking account to top it all off, I have read several times about linking up the accounts to improve the rewards, when I called to link the accounts they told me I couldn't link up the Ink Bold because it's a business account.
Did I miss something?

Seems like it's possible to link them. You probably just have to HUCA.

I went intoa branch to link my Bold Biz with my checking account . They told me the type of checking
Account I have is OLD  and not linkable.

They said I had to update to a newer account that has a minimum balance , otherwise they charge a bunch of fees. The checking account i have  is no fee checking as long as there s a direct deposit linked to the account.

I also have a savings account with them .

Was he blowing smoke ?   HUCA   in person ?

that's weird because last time i checked u could have a total checking account with no fees as long as u have direct deposit setup of $500 or more... See left column

I tried linking my Ink card with my personal accounts, and I was to by four different reps that I will loose the functionality of my bank accounts if I do that. Is that true?

What's the benefit of linking a Ink Bold to checking?

FYI -
The only card to link to a Chase personal checking account to earn more points is the Chase Freedom card which you earn 10 % bonus points plus 10 points per swipe.

Back in the day you were able to link a Chase Business Ink card to a Chase Business Classic account to earn more bonus points on the Ink card, however that program is long gone.
