Who cares if they don't give retention?
99x30=2,970 FTW.

I don't follow. Who is "they"? SPG or Delta? What is 99x30? And what is FTW?

Hmmm. So maybe I should re-open the SkyMiles cards then, huh. I just closed them a couple weeks ago. I actually just flew Delta this week for the first time without Sky Priority in years. Hmmm. What do you guys say?

Got a very strange letter from Amex today, with a $400 check.
"We are sending the enclosed check as reimbursement for the value of Starwood Starpoints that we were unable to apply to your account at the time that you earned them"

Anyone ever heard of this... not complaining but I double checked and I am not missing any points

Just a quick question for my first post ever -

I was told by amex that they cant give me more than 4 cards total (personal and business combined). Is there a way to get around that? I am assuming there is because I saw that Dan posted at one point that he did a 3BM for 10 Starwoods cards, right before amex sign up bonuses became a once in a lifetime opportunity. So is there a way to get around that? Are they just doing that to me because I am a relatively new customer. (only been in the game for 2 years)

You could have 4 credit cards. You could also have charge cards. While they were changing their systems to once in a lifetime people were able to get more.

I wanted to get the Starwoods card but noticed that the current offer doesn't seem very lucrative. How often does the card offer enhanced sign-up bonuses and are any expected soon? With the once in a lifetime policy I don't want to sign up for a bonus that isn't all that great.

Finally, does Amex still allow multi-browser method applications? I have an invitation to the PRG (only 25K) that I could use together with the Starwoods application for only 1 credit pull.

There's no "s" at the end of Starwood.
I'll let someone else answer the rest of your questions.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

I currently have like 6 Amex cards and wanted to close some of them down and transfer credit lines over to my SPG card and the rep told me that it would be a hard pull on my credit, is there any way around this?
I know that chase doesn't do that, is that Amex's policy?

Is it smart for someone to open his first credit card with Amex Starwood due to the 2nd year AF etc..? It won't be good to close it due to the fact that it's your first cc. My question however is will he eventually be able to downgrade it to a no AF cc Thanks in advance!
