I want to get an additional user for my amex starwood card but they told me they need the DOB of the user and it will be considered a soft pull on their credit. I was under the impression I would be able to get additional cards without a credit pull/check? Can someone let me know if I need to HUCA or if it's true?

Is it smart for someone to open his first credit card with Amex Starwood due to the 2nd year AF etc..? It won't be good to close it due to the fact that it's your first cc. My question however is will he eventually be able to downgrade it to a no AF cc Thanks in advance!
you can downgrade SPG to a non fee card like sky cash. but anyways, for $65 its well worth keeping the card.

Yes it's worth it for the $65 per year. especially if $30 will come from sbs, the benefits still outweigh sky cash, imo.

I currently have like 6 Amex cards and wanted to close some of them down and transfer credit lines over to my SPG card and the rep told me that it would be a hard pull on my credit, is there any way around this?
I know that chase doesn't do that, is that Amex's policy?

Who cares if they don't give retention?

I've had the card for 6 years and never got retention bonus. While I was on the phone adding AU's for SBS, I figured I'd check in with Retention Dept. They happily gave me 7K pts.

The 'once in lifetime' rule is for the card or for the points?

Cause my af came up now- and I think I want to close this card as its hard for me to use in Israel...

Anyone have any ideas how to product change the BCE to the Starwood? SM is saying my only options are the BCP, Blue Sky from American Express, and Blue Sky Preferred.

So the reps are saying that Starwood is its own category and the credit line can't be moved over to a new (or old) dif Amex card-
Is that accurate info or just a stupid rep (or 2) ??

In simpler English-
Can the credit line of a spg card be transferred to a different Amex card ?
Specifically the blue cash card...

Given that my travel destination is FL, and seeing that beachside hotels are dropping out of the Sheraton brand, I see less value to the SPG card.  No Hyatt and Hilton points worth little (I know, not this list), I see little us for a branded card.  Am I missing something?

Will it be another credit pull?
I transferred blue cash to spg they claimed no pull but they did ask all the financial questions.

I wanted to get the Starwoods card but noticed that the current offer doesn't seem very lucrative. How often does the card offer enhanced sign-up bonuses and are any expected soon? With the once in a lifetime policy I don't want to sign up for a bonus that isn't all that great.

Finally, does Amex still allow multi-browser method applications? I have an invitation to the PRG (only 25K) that I could use together with the Starwoods application for only 1 credit pull.
+1? Anyone?
