Do you have an spg account? Is your amex spg linked to an spg account?

You called SPG telling them you want to find out your account number so that you can open an online account and they told you to call Amex?

They should just verify some info and help you set up the online access.

Calling Amex should be able to get your account number linked to the card.

IIRC payments online after 8:00 PM MST get credited the next day.

First off, always have auto pay set up in case you forget to pay. Second, if this is the first time, and got have a decent amount of history with them, they'll probably waiver it.

First off, I have a few due dates per week so I'm used to checking everyday before midnight if nothing's due
And they refunded the late fee automatically when the payment posted, not sure though what the whole charging and then refunding was all about.

is there a way for someone else to book the hotel from his account for me (will pay for it of course) like people do with miles or is it not possible with hotels

Can you  convert the Amex everyday card to SPG card? Have 25k points which I mistakenly thought could be transferred to SPG 1:1.
I am interested in SPG points. Was hit with FR 2to 3 yrs ago and closed  the SPG cards  before getting the bonus

I do not think that Amex convertible to Starwood. It's worth it to apply for a new SPG and get the 25K bonus points.

If the spg card that he had was a personal one than based on the new rules he won't get the bonus again

you can get the card as many times as you want, but the bonus you can only get once, so if he never got it he will get it.
