Any way to add a poll on what people are doing with their Starwood card?

I get the one free night is a good value, however I question whether it will end up forcing me to spend more, since I won't stay just one night, if I do use it.

I'm thinking to close my SPG AmEx... I question whether I should really walk away from earning SPG points, however it also seems the AmEx Blue Business (2x AmEx points) or Chase Freedom Unlimited (1.5x Chase points) provide much better value for everyday spend....

I am keeping them for the free nights but not spending anything on them unless I have amex offers which were also basically killed.

If you are concerned about the free nights you can always sell them

i have both personal and biz also; just place both of them onto the same SPG account for the best total amount of points and they will triple into Marriott points automatically on 8/18.

Spoke with Amex and SPG customer service and they said the points won't post until after the merger. Points sent from Amex are frozen until the 18th.

None of Amex SPG points have been posted to my account since July 5th, is this normal? It used to post a day or two later. I want to make sure that when it gets posted will be at the correct rate?

Seems like points will post straight to your Marriott account after the merger. You'll probably find your Aug statement shows a "points adjustment" that will credit an additional 2x PPD. I got all excited till I realized that it's just denominating the points as Marriott rewards.

Hi everyone, coming in a bit late here but wondering what to do with my Amex SPG Business card. I don’t really have a use for the free night as I’m still single. Is that right? Is it sellable? If not I think I should downgrade but I never had a different business card from Amex before so I’ll lose the chance to get the bonus on whatever card I downgrade to unless I open that card and get the bonus first... any help and suggestions would be appreciated. Tysm!
If you are trying to get my attention/assistance and I'm not responding, please feel free to PM me. :)

Going forward there are 5 Marriott/ SPG cards to stay for good?

1-Amex SPG Personal
2-Amex Spg Business
3- Amex Spg Luxary Card (coming on the 23rd)
4-Chase Marriott
5-Chase Business

Are all 5 here to stay?

Thanks so much for answering. How much approx does the night go for? Why can’t downgrade?
