Hi everyone, coming in a bit late here but wondering what to do with my Amex SPG Business card. I don’t really have a use for the free night as I’m still single. Is that right? Is it sellable? If not I think I should downgrade but I never had a different business card from Amex before so I’ll lose the chance to get the bonus on whatever card I downgrade to unless I open that card and get the bonus first... any help and suggestions would be appreciated. Tysm!
Bump please

Thanks so much for answering. How much approx does the night go for? Why can’t downgrade?

I hear. How much approx does night go for (trying to see if worth keeping open for that). What’s best Amex business card to apply these days (want to be able to transfer credit line)

It really depends on where and when you redeem it. Some can be a ~58% discount off of the member rate and some can be a wash.

Use the app or the website to find something you might use and see how you might do.

how does amex (spg biz) justify the $30k spend requirement to get marriott gold? you automatically get silver just by having the card. i dont see any real differences between silver and gold...
and thats besides for the fact that it is going up to 35k spend requirement for 2019.
also, does anyone else agree with me that if you already did 30k spend for 2018, they should give you the equivalent of gold at the time (what is now plat). shouldnt be different than getting plat from the 10k spend on the ritz card

anyone know about applying for amex starwood  business card, since i opened marriot chase business card recently.

as per amex site: (similar wording on chase site)
"Effective 8/26, welcome offer not available to applicants who (i) have or have had the Marriott Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card from Chase or Marriott Rewards Business Credit Card from Chase in the last 30 days, (ii) have acquired The Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card from Chase or The Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card from Chase in the last 90 days, or (iii) received a welcome offer in the last 24 months on The Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card from Chase or The Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card from Chase."

sounds like i should apply ASAP- any reason not to? why no write-up on this?

Offer on my SPG reg card to upgrade to the luxury and get 15K points. Wondering if worth it as I spent already 75K on this card and that would give me plat status until 2020?

If you give me $5 I'll give you status until 2012 but in all seriousness do NOT upgrade! you will not get plat as the spend has to be done while the card is the Luxury version and you not be eligible to get the bonus ever again once you upgrade

How long does it take to get a SPG Account number after applying for a SPG card with Amex?
I applied on 08/15 for the SPG Business card but i didn't get a loyalty # yet.
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

TY

(doc wrote a few weeks ago that he thinks it will give status)

I probably won't be eligible anyway because I have the Ritz Card
