Why only consumer cards?

I guess I should have made that more clear. Business cards won't show up on my credit report. I want more Amex consumer cards because I have a Green Card that is 22 years old. The backdating will be awesome for me! That's why.

So, any other nice Amex consumer cards to go for? Or just get SPG by itself? Feels funny doing a "1MB" after having been initiated in the ways of DDF.

Would I be able to close my SPG card and re-apply?
Or is it the same policy as regular AMEX cards, the 12 month rule?

What will Amex let me convert my SPG to for a no-AF card?

I signed up for my Starwood business card back in mid-April. I just went to SM Amex to try to get bumped up to the new 30k deal.
Funny thing happened. I see a notice that starting Aug 30, there will be all chats, no emails. I took a mental note of it and proceeded to start my SM. After filling out a few fields, it automatically brought me to live chat.

Anyway, sounds like you will now have to brush up on your chatting skills with Amex.

Here's the report of my chat tonight with "Amond."

At first he said that there was nothing he could do. But I told him I am a cardholder for 22 years. Then I start sweet talking him, telling him how nice they are at Amex. Suddenly, he says I should hold on. A security question pops up on my screen (mother's maiden name.)

After five minutes of very little activity, he offers me 1,000. I say thank you so much but can you do better? He says, nope, that's the best we can do. I said thanks, and I took the 1,000.

All in all, I can't complain. I got the card over three months ago.  :)

See the attached screenshot for my dopey conversation.

It seems the Starwoods 30k promo is live. Has anyone previously gotten matched for an AMEX promo?

Went through most of this thread.. Can someone explain what is so great about this card?
Conversion to airlines is still less than most airline card signup bonuses. Hotel usage looks like it will net maybe 1 night at a top tier hotel. I don't get it.

Has anyone been able to change their personal SPG to a Bluecash or Costco True Earnings?

I don't want to lose the credit line.

So just shift the credit line.

I was approved for the SPG about a month and a half ago. I couldn't believe i jumped the gun early on the 30k promo so i gave Amex a call just now. Got a nice lady named Carrey, who said she couldn't edit the promotion, but gave me 3k. Beggers can't be choosers so im ;D.

I always have that "never give up" attitude, thanks to Dan the Man.  8)

Does leaving address blank still work (for 2nd personal spg card)?
Also, what does the 12 months go by (If address on SPG account changed a month ago). Current address or original address of SPG card?
Thanks...

Did live chat just now and they let me change to Blue Cash Everyday. Needed to get that 12 month timer started for next years 30k offer.

Just got another 1k, since they weren't able to give me the 30k bonus so now I'm at 29k, 1k more to go!

I applied for both the personal and business versions of this card last year and got the bonus points on both.  I cancelled both cards recently to avoid the annual fee.  Can I reapply with a new SPG number and get the bonus again, or do I have to wait 12 months?
