How do I find my renewal date?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Thanks! Didn't think of that. I actually needed this today, and looked up the date of approval, now I see that AF was only charged 5 weeks later.

I Just tried applying for spg consumer card for my wife and they told me I wouldnt receive the welcome offer even if I am aproved. She never had this card yet and last marriot sign up bonus she received was over 2 years ago and I closed that card a year ago already. And the last amex card she opened was like 3 years ago. Anyone else have this?

Secondly- I sent her the referral for an amex card. Is that an issue at all?

I have no clue about the referral.  I just tried applying for the spg consumer card and gt a message that I was not eligible for the welcome bonus.  I have the spg biz currently, had the consumer card several years ago (but not the same offer), probably have hit the 5/24 (but I didn't think that applied to AMEX) still not sure why I was denied the bonus.  Should I not have plugged in my spg rewards number?

I called up and they said that they cant give me a reason why I wouldnt receive the welcome offer, but they can file a complaint to review the matter, which takes 3 -5 business days... thats a little bit too late...  :(

Just got the same message on Bonvoy Business, they added language based on # of accounts opened or closed. (FTR two cards opened, one card closed in past few years)

And when you applied , you were not warned by Amex about not getting the bonus? If not, they are becoming real bad to deal with.

Many credit cards now have an AF that is high enough to make them not worth it, I am closing many cards I have been paying fees on for over 5 years, just keeping what makes sense to me. Unless swiping for others , which ill never even think about, a business with hundreds of thousands spend a month, etc, I find it hard to accumulate Amex MR points, have all their major cards, I do MS at grocery etc and ended up a year with 300000 MR, while with Chase Inks and Freedoms, several of each I have 1.5 million UR in a year.  And Amex offers are becoming worthless, AA GCs not working for credit, I do not see a reason not close some of their hefty fees cards.

Yup $595 for a card? It used to be one benefit outweighed a cards fee. Now, I often have a hard time justifying it even when all benefits are added to the equation.
