Just did my first 3bm in a while. SPG Bus and personal, and Gold. Got SPG bus and Gold instantly. Waiting on personal. What are my chances if I already have one?

IME Amex does overnight or 2/3 day fedex.

I currently have a personal SPG which I was planning on cancelling in November. I will be applying for the 30K offer over this upcoming weekend. While I'm aware that you can have 2 personal SPGs, would my chances of getting approved now increase if I were to just close my older one? Or is getting a 2nd one just as simple as getting a 1st one.

Why not go with the Amex Plat MB(50k MR) as you need to spend $1k only and get $100 certificate for Mercedes(extra bonus) or the Gold for 25k MR and spent $2k within 3 months.

Wonder if you get a personal SPG as well if that would fly?

I followed Dan's advice and applied for a second spg card and was approved. I did not put in an spg number with the hope of qualifying for the 30K promo. Amex issued me another spg number. How do I proceed? SPG is telling me that I need to merge the accounts...What should I do to ensure I get the 30K points for the new card?

Wait till the points post on your new account, and merge them afterwards.

I spent the 1st spend 4 days b4 the 1st statement closed, could it be I didn't get the 10k because the spending was too close to the closing date, and I shouldn't panic till the next statement?
