For this issue, i have found that explaining it to someone over the phone, you have a better chance of convincing the rep as opposed to SM where their first impulse is to say no for mathcing offer

i had the same issue and the rep gave me 3000 points as goodwill. she said thats the maximum they can give. i guess it depends on the person

Merged the new account to my old one. All points and elite stay credits have moved over.
Having 4 primary SPG cards sure makes Plat requal easier!

If they are not coded exactly the same you will have a hard time getting one removed.

Interestingly, when I first opened my 3 new cards, they assigned me new SPG #'s. But when the points posted, they all posted to the original SPG account w/o my doing anything.
I wonder if that was done on AMEX or SPG's end of things.

I was approved for new card for me and my husband with this promo and started using it and I got no bonus points at all, we already have one open starwoods account, is this only for first timers? what do I tell them when I call
